Originally an independent village, it now forms the most westerly suburbs of the city. Adjacent to Oldfield Park, similarly, it offers a wide choice of student accommodation, and is indeed popular with students, particularly with those from Bath Spa University, due to its close proximity to their campus.
Generally the area was expanded in the 1960s, so the housing stock is much newer than the Victorian terraces of Oldfield Park, and similarly parking is more convenient due to the road structures.
Twerton has its own small high street, with a mini-mart, newsagents, blockbuster video, and a well renowned fish & chip shop!
Busses passing through the area include the 20A/C and the Number 5 running along Lower Bristol Road to the city centre, arguably the biggest disadvantage of living in Tweton is the distance from the city centre & the University of Bath campus.
